...............................................................................Abolishing the Unequal, Unfair, and Unjust
Welcome to my page. I am Senator St. John representing Vermont. As you can see by the state seal Vermont is a territory claims to have freedom and unity. While this reigns true something that i believe goes hand in hand with freedom and unity is equality. America its-self is based on equality so why should this not hold true for gay couples merely wishing to have the same rights as couples who are allowed to marry. We are revolutionizing the country, its time for a change. Vermont is falling in line with the snowball effect of states granting marriage to same sex couples. This is a huge victory for the LGBT community in Vermont, but that does not mean that the mission is accomplished. As a senator of this state and majority whip of the Senate I along with my co-sponsor Senator Levenson, will do everything possible to over turn the Defense of Marriage Act that has ...................................................wrongfully preventing gay couples from receiving rights that are owed to them.
In case you missed my speech in the running forMajority Whipyou are more than welcome to read it here: Hello fellow Senators. As you well know I am Senator St. John and I am here to let you know that though unopposed, I am, and and would be no matter what, the best candidate for the majority whip. You see, I have a policy of unity. I believe that it works out best for everyone. The whips job is to get everyone on the same page if you will. Not only do I have the desire for all people who are responsible for making who are responsible for making such important bills to see eye to eye, I have the skills and tricks to make sure it happens. Allow me to do your dirty work and get the bill passed because seeing that I'm the only one running for this position, no one else will.
...........................................................................A Short Biography:As a young girl I grew up with many influences and surroundings. With these different settings in my life I grew up to be accepting of all types of people, this includes people of a different sexual orientation than heterosexual. When in elementary school I had a good friend who is gay, he was one of my closest friends and his sexual orientation had nothing to do with that. A person is a person no matter what and I am happy to say that i learned that at a young age. America is a society, a nation of different cultures from all over the world. I was raised with the belief that the differing people should be entitled to the same treatment. People of the gay community are my friends and my family and sitting by as I watch them get different treatment than I do is not something that I can do.
